Acupuncture That’s Tailored to You

Acupuncture is a traditional therapeutic practice that uses very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body.

Your practitioner will begin by talking with you about your concerns, health history and goals before creating a treatment approach specifically for you.

Depending on your needs, your appointment may also incorporate complementary techniques such as fire cupping or Tui Na, a traditional form of therapeutic massage.

The goal isn't simply to treat one symptom. It's to understand the bigger picture and support your body as a whole.

How Acupuncture Can Help

Aly's training spans a wide range of conditions. Many people come in for one concern and find that the treatment supports several things at once. Areas she commonly works with include:

  • Musculoskeletal pain: neck and shoulder tension, back pain, joint pain, sports injuries

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Digestive concerns: bloating, irregular digestion, discomfort

  • Insomnia and sleep disruption

  • Seasonal allergies and respiratory health

  • Stress, anxiety, and nervous system regulation

  • Women's hormonal health: cycle irregularities, PMS, perimenopause

  • Fertility support (Aly has a dedicated Fertility Acupuncture page if this is your primary concern)

  • Skin health: acne, redness, dullness

This is not an exhaustive list. If you are unsure whether acupuncture might be helpful for what you are dealing with, feel free to reach out before booking.

More Than Needles

Acupuncture is the foundation, but it is rarely the whole picture. Depending on what you come in with, Aly may draw on several Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies in a single session. Here is what each one involves.

Fire Cupping

Glass cups are applied to the skin and held with gentle suction. Many people find it effective for muscle tension, stiffness, and areas that carry a lot of holding. It often leaves temporary circular marks on the skin, which fade within a few days.

Gua Sha A smooth tool is used to apply gentle pressure along the surface of the skin. It works on the musculoskeletal level to encourage circulation and release tension. Gua Sha can also be applied to the face as a gentle technique to support lymphatic drainage.

Tui Na

A traditional Chinese therapeutic massage using pressure, kneading, and rolling techniques. It works alongside acupuncture to address musculoskeletal complaints and support overall flow through the body.

Moxibustion

Dried mugwort (Ai Ye) is burned near or on specific acupuncture points to warm the body, support circulation, and promote Zheng Qi, the body's natural vitality. It is also used to support immune function.

Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal formulas in the form of teas, tinctures, capsules, or topical preparations may be recommended as a complement to in-clinic treatment. Herbal recommendations are tailored to your individual pattern and constitution.

Chinese Dietary Therapy / Food Therapy

Dietary and lifestyle guidance rooted in TCM principles, with attention to your individual constitution and the current season. This is not a strict diet plan. It is practical, flexible guidance that supports the work you are doing in clinic.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Fine needles are placed at specific points on the face and body to support circulation, encourage relaxation in the facial muscles, and promote the appearance of healthy, rested skin. This is a gentler approach to facial wellness. It is not a medical procedure and makes no claims about anti-aging outcomes.

Your Treatment, Your Pace

Your first visit

We'll begin with a conversation about why you've come in, what you're experiencing and what you'd like to achieve.

Your practitioner will explain the treatment process and answer any questions you may have before getting started.

During your treatment

Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, and many people describe the sensation as minimal or barely noticeable.

Your comfort is always a priority. Your practitioner will check in with you throughout the treatment and adjust the approach as needed.

After your treatment

Many people feel deeply relaxed following acupuncture. You may also notice changes in tension, comfort or overall sense of well-being.

Your practitioner may recommend additional treatments or supportive practices depending on your individual needs.
