Fertility Acupuncture
Whether you are trying to conceive naturally, preparing for or going through IVF or IUI, or simply looking for ways to support your body through a fertility journey, acupuncture may be a useful addition to your care. At Natura Wellness Group, Aly Gomes works with clients navigating fertility challenges using a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach that looks at the whole person.
This is not a replacement for medical fertility treatment. It is a complementary therapy, one that many people find helps them feel more grounded, more supported, and more in tune with their body during a process that can be physically and emotionally demanding.
Gentle support for your fertility journey.
A More Personal Approach to Fertility Wellness
Every fertility journey is different. Your experiences, concerns, health history and goals deserve to be considered as part of your care.
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, fertility is connected to the overall balance and flow of the body. Hormonal health, circulation, stress response, sleep, and digestion all play a role. Acupuncture works by placing very fine, sterile needles at specific points along the body's meridians, with the aim of encouraging that balance.
Some of what acupuncture may help with in a fertility context:
-
Supporting menstrual cycle regularity and reducing PMS symptoms
-
Encouraging healthy circulation to the uterus and ovaries
-
Supporting the body's stress response during a process that can be emotionally exhausting
-
Complementing medical fertility treatments such as IVF or IUI, including preparing the body before and supporting recovery after procedures
-
General nervous system regulation and sleep support, both of which are closely connected to hormonal health
We understand that fertility care can involve many appointments, decisions and emotions. Having a dedicated space to pause and receive personalized care can be a valuable part of looking after yourself throughout the process.
It is worth saying clearly: acupuncture cannot guarantee conception, and it is not a fertility treatment in the medical sense. What many people find is that it supports their overall wellbeing during a challenging time, and that feeling more balanced and less depleted is meaningful in its own right.
Your Treatment, Your Pace
Your First Appointment
We'll begin with a conversation about your health history, current concerns, fertility goals and any treatments you're receiving.
This is your opportunity to ask questions, share what matters to you and discuss what you're hoping to get from acupuncture.
Your practitioner will use this information to develop an individualized approach and determine whether acupuncture is appropriate for you.
During Your Treatment
Your appointment takes place in a comfortable, quiet environment where you can relax and focus on yourself.
Very fine, sterile acupuncture needles are placed at selected points according to your treatment plan. Your practitioner will explain the process, check in with you and make adjustments to support your comfort.
If you're undergoing IVF, IUI or another fertility treatment, let your practitioner know so your care can be appropriately coordinated with your fertility clinic.
Ongoing Support
Your needs may change as you move through different stages of your fertility journey and typically involves a series of sessions rather than a single visit
Aly can discuss whether ongoing appointments may be appropriate for your goals, while recognizing that acupuncture is complementary care and cannot guarantee conception or a particular fertility outcome.
Your Practitioner: Aly
Aly Gomes is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac, TCMP in progress) with specific post-graduate training in fertility support. Her certifications include Fertility Over 35: Holistic Strategies and Expert Tips for Conception, as well as advanced training in women's hormonal health, Chinese Dietary Therapy, and Trauma and PTSD Recovery within a Chinese Medicine context.
Aly's approach is trauma-informed. She understands that fertility journeys can carry significant emotional weight, and she brings care and patience to every intake conversation. You will not feel rushed, and nothing is assumed.
Direct billing is available for most extended health benefit plans.
A Note on Working Alongside Your Care Team
Acupuncture works best as part of a broader support picture. If you are working with a fertility specialist, OB-GYN, naturopath, or any other healthcare provider, Aly is happy to work alongside that care rather than in place of it. She can adapt her treatment approach based on where you are in a medical protocol.
If you have questions about whether acupuncture is appropriate for your specific situation, please reach out before booking. Aly is happy to talk it through.
